Exterior
The Highlander is a tough looking off road caravan with all the gear to get you there & back!
Riding on a 6" off road Australian built chassis with 2" riser and 16" Alloy Wheels & Mud Tyres, the Highlander has ample ground clearance.
Combine this with front, rear & high-side silver checker plating & tough composite front, rear and sides, the Highlander is a tough and sleek looking offroad caravan.
The Highlander is finished off with a stone deflector forward of the large toolbox, complete with generator slide and jerry can holders.
Interior
While the Highlander is built to take the hits, it oozes with comfort & luxury inside Full CNC cut solid ply doors and piano hinging throughout provides strength without unwanted weight.
Practical bench heights, extra large and stylish double-glazed tinted windows with integrated midgee screens and blockout blinds, and 6'8" interior ceiling height all contribute to the breezy and open feel of the Highlander interior.
Chassis
Riding on an Australian-built steel 6"chassis with an extra 2" riser, the Highlander has a strong foundation. Extra strength is provided by the 6" Heavy Duty A-Frame which extends all the way back to the suspension mounts. The rough ride is cushioned by the Offroad Alpha Extreme suspension which consists of a heavy trailing arm, coil and dual shock to each wheel.
Electrical & Plumbing
The Essential Highlander comes equipped with 200AH of Heavy duty battery power, 390watts of roof top solar and also features a convenient external solar input plug.
Batteries are chassis mounted and protected in steel boxes. As with all Essential caravans, the battery management system and charger are all lithium compatible.
Monitoring of battery, power and water supply is conveniently done through the on-board Trek digital display.
Between 210 litres & 310litres of fresh water storage is standard, depending on the size of your Highlander, and grey water can be stored in the standard grey tank.
Beam to beam checkerplate protection protects all tanks under floor.
Conveniences such as Full Gas/Electric Oven, a large gas/electric hot water system and drinking water filtration are just some of the many conveniences & comforts to enjoy.

Essential Off Road and Semi Off Road range of caravans and also including ‘Upgraded Independent Suspension Touring caravans, have been designed and constructed to give added strength and ground clearance, For limited unsealed road usage. Gas venting regulations and other construction restraints limit the effectiveness of these caravans against dust and water penetration. Under no circumstances should these caravans be exposed to water crossings at, or above, body floor level. Essential Caravans strongly recommend towing at a safe speed according to travel conditions with extra care and attention required on uneven surfaces. Essential Caravans off-road caravans are not designed for hard impact or heavy landings or severely rutted roads or tracks. C-Class Semi Off Road and Off Road Models are not designed for any surface other than sealed or graded gravel and graded dirt roads. Under no circumstances are Semi Off Road models to be taken over severe corrugations or rutted roads. Off Road and Semi Off Road Essential Caravans are not designed for use on ‘Four Wheel Drive Only’ tracks under any circumstances.
